Which cards will be printed when using automated printing #135
If multiple card definitions are set up and records in each definition match the trigger condition for automated printing, are all valid records printed or just the records for the current loaded card ?

Hi Craig,

As soon as you clik Start printing in the Automated printing group of the Print ribbon, automated printing starts for all card layouts with an active trigger. CardExchange automatically switches between the layouts to perform the print commands.

Remember, that your trigger condition should be a full condition, because different filter levels are not applied additionally. So you might want to extend your trigger condition from IS NULL to for example IS NULL AND DepartmentCode = 'DEV2'. If not, the same record might be printed with different card layouts or CardExchange might throw excetion when a record is triggered that is not allowed by the filter settings.

Which cards will be printed when using automated printing #2073
Hi Rutger,

We have a customer who would like to print two designs for each record using Autoprint (1x card, 1xA4).
If we set Automated printing then it would process the storage item when printing the first design and not print the second design as the condition has already been met.

Can you see any way to achieve this ?

Many thanks,
Craig

Hi Craig,

You should either define storage items on different fields for each designs, or have the storage item of one design set the trigger value of the other design.

Option 1. Design A has a storage item on field X and design B has a storage item on field Y. The default value for both X and Y is 0. Design A is printed when X = 0 and stores the value 1 in field X, for example by using a manual-entry mapping. Design B is printed when Y = 0 and stores the value 1 in field Y.

Option 2. Design A and B both have a storage item on field X. The default value for X in the database is 0. Design A prints when X = 0 and stores the value 1 in field X, for example by using a manual-entry mapping). Design B prints when X = 1 and stores a value 2 in field X.

regards,
Rutger.
