Change Colour of Colour Block #5473
Hi,

I would like to setup a block of color that changes depending on the house of the student, I assume I can use a formula to do this, but am looking for some pointers to get me started, we have the pastoral group of the student in the database that I can take the leading character from and set a colour based on this ie: V* = Red, S* = Yellow, G* = Green, B* = Blue.

Cheers,

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

if I'm right you want to print special colors for every letter in a database record (V, S, G, B ) , correct?

There are different ways to do this. Here I created an example via CardExchange Ultimate (with expressions, variables and functions). But you can also do it with variable images.

Here a sample created for CE Ultimate:

If V, S, G, B are active, the layout shows the differnet colors:

If it is V and B you only see these two colors on the layout:

CardSetup ideas:

"expressions":

"functions":

Is this something you need?

Best regards

Hi,

just to show a different way:

Choose variable images and "connect" this to your database columns.

Thanks Oliver,

The variable image worked a treat!

Thank you!
