Saving Manual Entries for each Record #3834
I just upgraded form 8.x.x to 9 and I am having issues with saving the manual entries I previously placed on each ID card I created. Does version 9 not give the opportunity to store manual entries? If I am not mistaken, version 8 had that ability. Any help would be appreciated.

It should work the same as in version 8. Can you ne more specific about what issues you are having?

Saving Manual Entries for each Record #6979
I just ran into this issue.

I'm creating student badges for a campus and am getting a sql database for the records.
I add a manual entry that I can rename a student if needed, otherwise return the records name.
After making the manual change, the next card is showing the same manual entry.

Manual entries:
RENAME
NAME

Variables:
RENAME - Pointed to Manual entry RENAME
NAME - Pointed to Manual entry NAME
PERFIRSTNAME - Pointed to Database column entry Per_First_Name
PERLASTNAME - Pointed to Database column entry Per_Last_Name

Function:
def IsValid(s):
if RENAME == 'Yes':
return NAME
else:
return PERFIRSTNAME + ' ' + PERLASTNAME

Hi Christopher,

the way you describe it is by design. Manual entries are stored per card and not per record. If this needs to be remembered per record, it would be best to have fields for RENAME and NAME in the database and not use manual entries.

Rutger.
